Our Missions

Zion is a church focused on the kingdom.  As kingdom minded people, we are to be striving to spread the gospel at home and in the world.  As we work towards that end, here is a summary of the current missionary work we support as a church.

Mission to the World (MTW)

Zion Reformed Church primarily supports the well-established global missionary organization of the PCA, “Mission to the World.”

Mission to North America (MNA)

Remembering the work of the kingdom is also here at home, we joyfully support the church planting efforts of "Mission to North America."

Missionaries

Alex & Jean Aga Kahn
Location: The United Kingdom in London, England

Alex and Jean are currently living in London, England working with the local church and sharing the gospel with those in their local community.  Alex was born and raised in Islamabad, Pakistan as a Muslim.  14 years after meeting Jean as a pen-pal across the oceans, and marrying her, Alex miraculously came to know the Lord in 1997.  He has been growing in his love for the Lord and the gospel since then.  His zeal and sincerity in sharing Christ’s love has been evident in his willingness to do any task great or small for his brothers and sisters in Christ and for non-believers as well.  Jean was born and grew up in Cincinnati in a Christian home.  Her faith was strengthened when, after eight miscarriages, God blessed her with their first child, an answer to her fervent prayers.  At that point she began to seek a closer walk with the Lord and to pray for her then unsaved husband.  Her consistent prayers and her church family’s perseverance in sharing the love of Christ eventually bore fruit when her husband came to know the Lord personally.

If you would like to participate in the financial support of Alex & Jean Agha-Khan (Account #51676) you may do so by sending your check to the following organization:

Marc & Samantha Summers
Location: Belize
Marc and Sam are laboring for the kingdom in the country of Belize.  Marc is the Team Leader and is involved in administrating and teaching at a seminary, coordinating short-term mission trips, and planting churches. One church is in a wealthy neighborhood where Americans are influential and most Belizeans are not. The other church located in the poorest area of the city. This church has a full time pastor and they are involved in giving out food and preaching the gospel.

Sam is busy home schooling and teaching children in the church. Their three children are active in the ministry as well. The Summers live in a concrete house where the temperature inside can reach 90 degrees or higher. To cool off, they like to drink Coke and enjoy swimming, or running errands in their air conditioned car.

Short-term Missions

At least once per year Zion Reformed Church organizes a short term mission project. In 2005, Zion sent workers to Belize for two weeks to assist our missionaries there, Mark & Samantha Summers. In May 2006, church members traveled to New Orleans for 10 days to help rebuild homes and lives destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Short term missions are one means to live out the good news of the gospel in the midst of a broken world.
